On Saturday 20th July, Barnardo’s staff, volunteers and their families from all over the Isle of Wight participated in the Isle of Wight Pride parade. We had colleagues from The Prison Visits Family Support Service and The Isle of Wight Family Hubs. This included colleagues from the Family Services Team, the Admin Team and Community Early Help and not forgetting our wonderful volunteers. We were also joined by our Barnardo’s Mascot, Barnaby Bear and some of his younger friends.
Sarah Lacey (Team Lead for the Prison Visits and Family Support Service and EDI Locality Lead) said: “ I am so grateful to all our wonderful, enthusiastic staff and volunteers who gave up their time to come and join the parade, representing Barnardo’s. We had a fantastic morning! Luckily the rain held off and we danced our way through the streets celebrating and promoting the rights of the LGBTQ+ community”.
