Parenting can be really rewarding but also really hard at times. The Family Links Nurturing Programme can help you on your parenting journey.

If you have a child aged 3 to 11 years, then Family Links is for you. Over these 10 sessions you will learn positive ways of helping children handle their feelings and behaviour.

  1. Session 1: Giving Praise
  2. Session 2: Discipline
  3. Session 3: Rules, rewards and penalties
  4. Session 4: Power and self esteem
  5. Session 5: Feelings
  6. Session 6: Kinds of touch
  7. Session 7: Child development
  8. Session 8: Sex and helping to keep children safe
  9. Session 9: Types of behaviour to ignore
  10. Session 10: Celebration!

The sessions are delivered by trained and experienced workers. Sessions provide a friendly, supportive space to share concerns and develop new skills.

You can choose whether to attend the sessions in a centre with other parents and carers, or to access the sessions online.

Here’s what some of our families have told us after completing the programme:

“Thank you for giving me the tools to be able to understand my child and his emotions and why he could be feeling a certain way!”

“Sad the course is coming to an end soon, it has been very helpful in giving ideas and strategies to get positive results and behaviours from my child.”

“Everyone is friendly and everyone has made progress, and the staff running it are really calm, relaxed and helpful.”
