Family Links Nurturing Programme

Parenting can be really rewarding but also really hard at times. The Family Links Nurturing Programme can help you on your parenting journey.

If you have a child aged 3 to 11 years, then Family Links is for you. Over these 10 sessions you will learn positive ways of helping children handle their feelings and behaviour.

Session 1: Giving Praise
Session 2: Discipline
Session 3: Rules, rewards and penalties
Session 4: Power and self esteem
Session 5: Feelings
Session 6: Kinds of touch
Session 7: Child development
Session 8: Sex and helping to keep children safe
Session 9: Types of behaviour to ignore
Session 10: Celebration!

The sessions are delivered by trained and experienced workers. Sessions provide a friendly, supportive space to share concerns and develop new skills.

Parenting Puzzle ( 5 x 2 hour sessions, over 5 weeks)

Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging. The Parenting Puzzle helps deal with those challenges so you have a calmer, happier life.
A tried and tested programme it helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it makes us feel. The sessions are for families with a child aged 3 to 5 years old.

Week 1 - Understanding your children’s behaviour; Listening and how babies communicate; Praise and encouragement.
Week 2 - Praise and guidance; Power of play and positive moments
Week 3 - Boundaries and parenting styles; Understanding and managing behaviour; Looking after ourselves
Week 4 - Dealing with stress and conflict; Developing the family toolkit
Week 5 - Getting Ready for School Workshop (delivered online)
