Barnardo’s U-Turn supports some of the most vulnerable children and young people on the Isle of Wight. We deliver a holistic package of support and intervention, primarily through one to one outreach work and targeted sessions to promote digital and personal safety, to understand and recognise harmful and exploitative relationships and to provide mentoring to exit exploitation networks. This is achieved through assertive outreach, building trusting relationships, and raising self-esteem, aspirations and resilience.
Our work is developed in partnership with children and young people, using a trauma informed and child centred approach. Our U-Turn worker Georgia Little will attend the multi – agency meetings where appropriate and can also support professionals with their understanding of the service and exploitation.
