Talking Teens

As our children grow into teenagers they become more independent and more able to make their own choices.

Trying to support our teenagers through these changes can be challenging at times so Talking Teens is on hand to offer a range of ideas and strategies you may wish to try to make family life more positive for everyone.

The four, 2 hour sessions explore

  • Session 1: Being a parent of a teenager
  • Session 2: Understanding your teenager and teenager development
  • Session 3: Communicating with your teenager and Handling difficult issues
  • Session 4: Managing conflict; Rules and boundaries

We have found the course itself provides a great chance to meet other parents who are in similar situations, and a safe place to share experiences and ideas.
The sessions are delivered online by trained and experienced workers. Sessions provide a friendly, supportive space to share concerns and develop new skills.

During the course you will be provided with ‘Talking Teens: Your guide to understanding teenagers'. This is a great book which you are able to keep to refer back to at any time!

How the Talking Teens Parent Group has helped other parents:
"I realised that you’re really needed as a parent even if your teenager behaves otherwise”
“I’m doing a better job than I thought I was”
“It has been really interesting and informative, both leaders great and lovely approach, felt very relaxed”
